Call it the PADI Rescue Diver program! The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.

What do I need to start?

PADI (Junior) Adventure Diver – you must have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive (or qualifying certification from another organization
Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)
Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR & First Aid program within the past 24 months (we can offer you the Emergency First Response Course)
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can participate in the PADI Rescue Diver Course

If the participant answers yes to any of the medical questions listed then a signed clearance from a doctor, valid within 12 months will be required

What will I do?

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover:

PADI Rescue Course Exercise 7 unresponsive diver at the surface

Dive first aid
Emergency management and equipment
Swimming and non-swimming assists
Panicked diver response
Underwater problems
Missing diver procedures
Surfacing the unconscious diver
In water artificial respiration
Egress (exits)
First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
Dive accident scenarios

How long will it take?

Minimum Open Water Training: five sessions over two days

We generally prefer to conduct our courses over a relaxed 3 days schedule, however if you also need to complete the Emergency First Response Course in conjunction with the Rescue Course then we run the program over 4 days.

What will I need?

PADI Rescue Course Exercise 9 first aid for pressure related injuries

Suitable Swim Wear
Sun Cream
Trained and current in first aid and CPR within the previous 2 years

Then why not choose to do the academics for your PADI course online. PADI offers a range of e-Learning options through their web site, which allows you to do just this. That way when you arrive on Koh Tao, you can spend less time in the classroom and more time enjoying the diving and the island. With all e-Learning courses, with the exception of Divemaster, we offer a 10% discount on the course cost.

Please note that the cost of studying the academics via e-Learning are the responsibility of the student and payable directly to PADI via their web site.

Why Emergency First Response?

Emergency First Response gives you the tools you need to perform CPR and First Aid. Whether you're a diver or a non-diver, Emergency First Response prepares you to properly handle potentially life-threatening situations.

What do I need to start?

No dive certification required
No minimum age limit

What will I do?

This comprehensive program is composed of two core modules that can be taught in tandem or as stand-alone courses: Emergency First Response - Primary Care and Emergency First Response - Secondary Care. Together, Winnie going through EFR and Rescue knowledge reviews with a student at Planet Scuba these courses proved extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid, as well as providing optional (yet recommended) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Emergency Oxygen sections.
